Writing, Research & Civic Insight

Freelance Journalism & Investigative Reporting
For organizations, municipalities, community groups, and media outlets.
My freelance investigative journalism focuses on careful research, responsible inquiry, and clear public storytelling. I examine how decisions are made, how power moves, and how policies affect people’s lived experience.
This is not advocacy or promotional writing. Editorial independence and journalistic ethics guide all reporting. Much of my work emerges during moments of transition or tension—policy shifts, governance disputes, or community concern—when trustworthy information matters most.
This work may include:
-
Freelance Journalism & Investigative Reporting
-
Policy & Governance Analysis
-
Research-based reports
-
Stakeholder or systems assessment
Engagements are scoped based on the nature, depth and complexity of the work.
Credentials & Reporting Focus
I bring decades of experience in public administration, governance, and community leadership to my reporting, along with formal training in journalism and narrative nonfiction. My work draws on deep familiarity with municipal and regional government, nonprofit governance, land use and conservation, housing, immigration, public finance, and community development.
My reporting has appeared in regional and community publications across southeastern Wisconsin, including work for Southern Lakes Newspapers and affiliated outlets.
